Physical Description: The white marlin is smaller than other billfish. The white marlin's upper jaw is twice as long as its lower jaw. The upper jaw forms a bill, which is long and slender in comparison to many other billfish. The body is dark blue above and silvery white below, with brown spots on the sides of the white portion. The first dorsal fin, which runs almost the length of the body, is dark blue with black spots. The second dorsal and pelvic fins are dark blue. A characteristic of the white marlin is that the first dorsal, anal and pectoral fins are rounded at ends. The pectoral fins and caudal fin are blackish brown, but the long pectoral fins may be tipped in white. The lateral line is distinct, and with the exception of a single curve over the origin of the dorsal fin, it runs straight along the body. The body also has a dense covering of bony scales.
The white marlin is a hard fighting fish and is known to be tricky when luring it to strike. At Coast To Coast Fish Mounts, we will capture all the natural characteristics and the beautiful colors that your white marlin displayed in creating your white marlin replica fish mount.
